My Etsy journey has been very frustrating for me. I have simple but what I think are good items. I get views on my items every day but never visit clicks, what does that mean?
Well it means my SEO (search engine optimization) is doing well, I have items listed with good tags and titles so they come up as search results when someone searches BUT my items aren’t good enough to click on the actual image for my item, which would take the buyer to my shop. It’s hard to see the views versus visits in the morning, why aren’t people clicking on my items? What makes them chose the item next to mine or above mine?
My goal for this week, review all of my tags, titles and revamp pictures if need be. In hopes that with the holiday season approaching, yes, I know we are months from Christmas, but we all know that one family member who is already done shopping, that my items with be viewed and clicked on.
Google SEO; let me know what you come up with? It’s amazing how many SEO experts are out there, what is an SEO Expert? How do you proclaim that title for yourself? Are you a robot that knows what people are looking for? Is a guessing game, hoping you get the words right to show up in a Google search?
Did I think this Etsy thing was going to be easy? Short answer: YES! All of the Etsy “experts” talk about how quickly they made thousands of dollars per month and how easy it was to do POD (print on demand) set it and forget it, easiest passive income yet! The real answer: NO! It’s hard work, countless hours of designing, researching and stressing about why your item is not selling. Will this ever bring in any income? Or will I continue to linger in the red?
